AP appoints 6 new Principals, 5 Superintendents at Govt Medical College Hospitals

Vijayavada: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Andhra Pradesh Health Department has appointed new principals and superintendents at several government medical colleges and hospitals across the state.

Altogether, six government medical colleges got new principals, while five government teaching hospitals received new superintendents. Among these, three new principals were appointed to fill vacant posts, and three existing principals and one superintendent were transferred.

The reshuffle follows the promotion of eight professors to the position of Additional Director of Medical Education (ADME). The Health Ministry said that promotions were based on performance, while transfers were made in consideration of health reasons and personal requests.

As per a TOI news report, Dr. K.V.S.M. Sandhya Devi, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and acting Principal of Andhra Medical College (AMC), has now been made the full-time Principal of AMC.

Dr. A. Vishnu Vardhan, who was serving as Vice-Principal of Kakinada Government Medical College, will take over as the new Principal there. The earlier Principal, Dr. D.V.S.L. Narasimham, has been transferred to the office of the Director of Medical Education (DME).

Dr. G. Rajeshwari, a Professor of Biochemistry, has been appointed as the Principal of Rajamahendravaram Medical College.

As for the hospitals, Dr. K.A.V. Subramanyam from AMC Visakhapatnam will now head the Ongole Government General Hospital (GGH) as its Superintendent. Dr. C. Amulya, also from AMC Visakhapatnam, has been posted as Superintendent of Srikakulam GGH.

Dr. A.V. Rao, who was acting as Superintendent at Vijayawada GGH, has been given regular charge. Dr. J. Radha from SV Medical College, Tirupati, will now lead SVR Ruia GGH in Tirupati. Dr. V. Manmadha Rao from AMC Visakhapatnam has been appointed as Superintendent of Machilipatnam GGH.

In the transfer list, Dr. D.V.S.L. Narasimham, former Principal of GMC Kakinada, has moved to the DME office as an ADME, while continuing to hold the charge of DME. Dr. A. Surekha, Principal of Kadapa Medical College, has been transferred to Nandyal Medical College.

Meanwhile, Dr. T. Jamuna, who was the Superintendent of Ongole GGH, is now the Principal of Kadapa Medical College. Dr. G. Ravi Prabhu, former Superintendent of SVR Ruia GGH, has been transferred as Principal of SV Medical College.
