Haryana Gears Up for NEET 2025: Over 60,000 Students to Appear on May 4
Chandigarh: With the National Eligibility-Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2025 scheduled for May 4, Haryana is set to host 60,687 aspirants across 162 designated examination centres. Gurugram, Hisar, and Faridabad will see the highest number of candidates, with 6,672, 6,332, and 6,192 students respectively, gearing up to take the test crucial for entry into undergraduate medical courses.
To ensure smooth conduct of the examination, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi chaired a high-level review meeting on Wednesday, bringing together top officials from the civil and police administration, education department, and National Testing Agency (NTA). Emphasis was placed on seamless coordination, infrastructure readiness, and incident-free execution across all centres.
Speaking to PTI, officials said, "Over 60,000 students have registered and are eligible to take the NEET UG exam on May 4 in Haryana. A total of 162 examination centres have been established across the state, with 60,687 students registered to appear."
Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi recently chaired a meeting to review the state's preparedness for the examination.
The meeting was attended by Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur, Director, Higher Education, Rahul Hooda, while Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education, Vineet Garg, all deputy commissioners, superintendents of police, the director of higher education, representatives from the National Testing Agency (NTA), and senior officials from the Education Department joined in via video-conferencing, said an official statement.

The chief secretary underscored the need for seamless coordination between the civil administration and the NTA to ensure a professional, transparent, and incident-free examination process.
He directed all deputy commissioners to work in close coordination with the NTA's city coordinators to finalise logistical arrangements and ensure the availability of all essential amenities at examination centres.
Officers were instructed to conduct on-site visits of the designated centres to assess preparedness and address any gaps well in advance.
According to official data, Gurugram will host the highest number of candidates, with 6,672 students eligible to appear at 18 centres followed by Hisar with 6,332 candidates at 15 centres, and Faridabad with 6,192 students across 17 centres.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in a bid to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of NEET UG 2025, the Ministry of Education is holding a series of meetings with district magistrates (DMs) and superintendents of police (SPs) across all states and Union territories. The move comes as part of a comprehensive strategy to avoid any lapses during the exam, scheduled for May 4, in the wake of last year’s controversies involving paper leaks and irregularities.
The medical entrance exam, which over 23 lakh candidates are expected to take this year, will be held in more than 550 cities at over 5,000 centres nationwide. Officials have activated district-level coordination committees and rolled out multi-layered security measures, aiming to make the exam process "fool-proof"
Sources informed PTI, "The Ministry of Education is holding a series of meetings with district magistrates and superintendents of police from all states and Union territories to ensure there are no lapses in the upcoming medical entrance exam NEET UG."
The May 4 exam will be conducted in more than 550 cities at over 5,000 centres across the country. The ministry has been working on a “fool-proof” plan after the last year’s exam was blistered by irregularities, including paper leaks.
