Lucknow: MBBS student dies by suicide allegedly after failing 1st year exams

Lucknow: In a tragic incident, an MBBS student at Integral University, Lucknow, committed suicide by hanging himself in his hostel room.
According to the recent report by Jagran, the medico took this step after failing a subject in his very first year.
The deceased’s body was found hanging in his hostel room. The police investigation revealed that his examination results had been declared just three days earlier, and he had become deeply distressed after failing.
The deceased has been identified originally a resident of Belghat in Gorakhpur. He was a first-year MBBS student at Integral University.
According to Gudamba Inspector Prabhatyesh Srivastava, the student was alone in his hostel room on Thursday morning. When his roommate returned from the mess, he found that the room was locked from the inside, reports Jagran.
After knocking on the door for some time without receiving any response, his roommate informed the hostel and college administration. Subsequently, hostel officials and the police arrived at the scene. The door was forced open, and upon finding the student's body hanging inside the room, they immediately brought it down.
He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced the student dead. His family members were informed of the incident. His relative stated that the student's exam results had been released three days earlier and he had failed in every subject except one.
The Inspector stated that the family members have, for the time being, denied making any allegations. If they submit a written complaint, an investigation will be conducted, and appropriate action will be taken. Meanwhile, the student's brother revealed that he was deeply distressed over having a 'back' (failed subject) in his very first year.
