NBE begins NEET MDS 2026 registrations, exam on May 2

New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has issued an official notification regarding the conduct of the NEET MDS 2026 examination, which serves as the single entrance test for admission to PG dental, Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses across the country.
According to the notice, NEET-MDS 2026 will be conducted by NBEMS in a computer-based format, and the examination will be used for admission to MDS programmes in dental colleges and institutions for the upcoming academic session.
A candidate for admission to the Master in Dental Surgery course, must possess a recognised degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery awarded by a university or institute in India and registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration and has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/recognised dental college. A candidate who after passing the final qualifying examination (BDS or the foreign dental degree recognized by GoI/DCI), is undergoing 12-month compulsory rotatory internship/ practical training and is likely to complete the same by the prescribed cut-off date for internship completion for a particular admission session can take up NEET-MDS examination, subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria as prescribed in the bulletin of information.

The notification further clarified that the detailed information bulletin, including the application process, eligibility criteria, examination schedule, and other important instructions, will be released separately on the official NBEMS website. Candidates seeking admission to MDS courses are advised to regularly visit the official portal to stay updated on the application timeline and examination details.
Candidates planning to appear for NEET-MDS 2026 have been advised to keep track of official announcements and follow the instructions issued by NBEMS once the detailed schedule and application window are released.
