Maha: Second-Year Pharmacy Student Ends Life After Alleged Assault by Principal

Jalgaon: A 20-year-old second-year pharmacy student was found dead in his rented accommodation in Jalgaon city on Sunday evening, with a note recovered from his pocket allegedly blaming his college principal for assault.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to officials, the student, who was pursuing his second year at a private pharmacy college, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in his room. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
During the preliminary inquiry, police recovered a handwritten note from the student’s pocket. In the note, he reportedly stated that he had been physically assaulted by the college principal in front of other students following a dispute between two student groups. The message suggested that the incident had deeply affected him.
Police have registered a case and are recording statements from classmates, college staff and others connected to the matter. Authorities are also verifying the authenticity of the note and examining the sequence of events that allegedly led to the incident.
The case has sparked concern among students and local residents, prompting calls for a thorough and impartial investigation. Police officials told The Times of India that they are treating the matter sensitively given the serious allegations made in the note.
Further action will depend on the outcome of the ongoing probe, including forensic examination and witness statements, officials added.
