Decomposed monkey found in water tank at Nuh Medical College staff quarters

Gurugram: In a disturbing incident, the body of a monkey was discovered inside a water tank of a residential building at Shaheed Hasan Khan Medical College in Nuh, prompting the residents to allege negligence in maintenance, a staff member said on Wednesday.
College Director Dr Mukesh Kumar has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
The incident came to light on Tuesday after complaints of a bad odour, following which water tanks in the EWS-1, 2 and 3 residential blocks were inspected.

The decomposed monkey was found in one of the tanks, and it is suspected to have died four to five days ago, he added.
Residents alleged that the tanks were not cleaned regularly and that they had been using the contaminated water for daily activities.
A resident said, “The campus is plagued by monkeys, which break tank lids, allowing dirt and animal waste to enter the water. The administration has ignored the issue.” Kumar said iron lids and nets would be installed to prevent such incidents. “Luckily, no staff member or family has been affected by using this water,” he added, reports PTI.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that a disturbing incident had emerged from Maharshi Devaraha Baba Medical College in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria, where panic spread across the campus after cleaning staff discovered a decomposed body of a man inside the college’s overhead water tank. The body is suspected to have been in the tank for nearly 10 days. Unaware of the situation, students and staff had been using the contaminated water for daily use until a foul smell prompted them to stop. The body was so badly decomposed that the skin began peeling off when touched.
