Health Bulletin 26/ March/ 2025 - Video
Overview
Here are the top health news for the day:
Taking steps towards eradicating tuberculosis (TB), the Government of India has launched the 100-Day TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in 347 priority districts across 33 States and Union Territories. As part of the initiative, 9.02 crore vulnerable individuals were screened, leading to the identification of 3.01 lakh new TB cases. During this period, 1.58 lakh TB patients completed their treatment.
The campaign, which ran from December 7, 2024, to March 14, 2025, aimed to accelerate progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to TB elimination.
In a setback for the National Eligibility--Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2024 candidates, the hearing for the plea seeking the release of the NEET PG answer key for 2024 has been deferred once again.
Even though the plea was scheduled for a hearing today before a top court bench comprising Justices BR Gavai and Augustine George Masih, sources informed Edex Live that the matter was reportedly not taken up due to the formation of a special Supreme Court bench in the second half of the day.

The Orissa High Court on Monday expressed grave concern over an alleged baby swap case at the SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCB MCH) in Cuttack, issuing notices to several state authorities. The court has directed the superintendent of SCB MCH to submit a response by April 2, the date of the next hearing.
The petition was filed by Ratana Behera, a resident of Puri, who alleged that his wife had given birth to a healthy baby girl at SCB MCH on February 11. However, what began as a celebratory occasion quickly descended into despair when doctors informed the family that the newborn had fallen ill and needed immediate ICU care.

In a major step to boost Punjab's healthcare infrastructure, the state government has assigned stations and postings to 255 doctors under the bonded government service program. These doctors, who have recently completed their Postgraduate (PG) courses, will be deployed across various public healthcare institutions in the state to help address critical gaps in healthcare services.
Medical Dialogues had previously reported that the healthcare system in Punjab is grappling with a severe shortage of doctors, as only 11 out of the 17 doctors recently allotted to the district have joined their duties so far. This gap has resulted in unmet medical needs for the local population.
