Nearly one in three ventilators is currently non-functional across major hospitals in Delhi, including Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) and its associated Lok Nayak Hospital, revealed a Right to Information (RTI) application filed by India Today with Delhi's leading government hospitals.

The RTI findings submitted by Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh revealed that one-third of ventilators, one of the essential equipment, in leading government hospitals in Delhi are now lying defunct.

The National Eligibility Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 aspirants are still awaiting the announcement regarding the commencement of counselling for the All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Even though the PG medical entrance exam was conducted more than two months ago and the results were released on August 19, 2025, there is still no word from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) regarding the commencement of the AIQ counselling.

The Times of India has reported that the MCC, which is in charge of conducting the AIQ counselling, has informed the States that the regulatory authority, the National Medical Commission (NMC), has asked the committee to put the process on hold.

NEET Candidates May Lose Option to Choose Exam Cities, No Confirmation Yet

Several reports have been widely circulated claiming that students appearing for national-level entrance exams, including the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET), will no longer be allowed to choose their exam city. However, there has been no official confirmation from the National Testing Agency (NTA) or the Ministry of Education regarding the change in exam policy.

The reports regarding the removal of exam city selection came after the NTA activated the demo link for JEE Main 2026 registration. They claim that this decision was taken to ensure greater transparency in the entrance exam and prevent cheating and malpractice.

MP Cough Syrup Case: Doctors Seek Central Probe, withdrawal of charges against paediatrician

In the aftermath of the arrest of a paediatrician following the deaths of children from kidney failure linked to the consumption of contaminated Coldrif cough syrup in Madhya Pradesh, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) described the doctor as a victim of systemic failure. It has urged Union Health Minister JP Nadda to intervene and ensure the immediate withdrawal of the case against the bona fide medical practitioner.

Condemning the action taken against the Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP), the IMA on Wednesday said the root cause of this tragedy is the failure of quality control at the level of the manufacturer, and the subsequent failure of the regulatory system responsible for oversight.
