The Kerala High Court recently passed a detailed interim order with draft guidelines for granting a fair opportunity to doctors accused of medical negligence.
The Kerala HC bench comprising Justice V.G.Arun, while laying down the 12-point draft guidelines, asked the Additional Director General of Prosecution to place the same before the government for immediate action.

India faces rising Cancer Burden, Bengaluru Women Most Affected: Study
A large cross-sectional study has revealed significant regional disparities in cancer incidence across India and an overall rising cancer burden. The findings offer crucial insights for policymakers to optimise resource allocation and strengthen cancer control strategies nationwide.
The study was published in the August 2025 issue of JAMA by the National Cancer Registry Programme Investigator Group of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
The study aimed to assess recent patterns and trends in cancer incidence and mortality across 43 geographic regions in India (2015–2019) and provide projections for 2024.

Bihar Government approves Rs 27,000 Stipend for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, FMG Interns
Offering respite to the MBBS, BDS, and AYUSH interns in Bihar, the State Government has announced a stipend hike. Now, the MBBS, BDS, Ayurvedic, Unani, and Homoeopathy Interns in the government medical colleges, Patna Dental College and other institutes across the State will get Rs 27,000 per month. Previously, they used to get Rs 20,000 per month as their stipend.
Apart from this, the State has also announced to give a Rs 27,000 monthly stipend to the Foreign Medical Graduates undergoing mandatory internship in the State's Government medical colleges.
Meanwhile, the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy interns will get Rs 20,000 per month as their stipend, announced the Bihar Government.

Nurse dies from severe burns after being allegedly set on fire by husband
In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old nurse from Kishanganj succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, nearly two weeks after she was allegedly set on fire by her husband, who suspected her of infidelity.
According to the news reports, the victim, a nurse employed at a private nursing home, had sustained severe burn injuries after her husband, allegedly intoxicated her with sedative-laced tea and set her ablaze using petrol from his scooter’s fuel tank. The incident occurred on August 21 in their home located under the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station in Kishanganj district.
